United States women's national team star Carli Lloyd announced Wednesday she and husband Brian Hollins are expecting a child together.
"It has been a rollercoaster of a journey to get to this point," she wrote on social media. "We are beyond excited to be parents! I couldn't have gotten through this without my amazing husband, Brian. He truly kept me going."
Lloyd's immediate family must be thrilled.
Her parents were interviewed during the broadcast of her farewell USWNT match in October 2021 and they reflected on the sacrifices that were required of her during her playing career.
