ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Sophomore infielder Abby Martin put together a superb three-game stretch as the Bulldogs took a road series at UIC over the weekend. Martin led the Bulldog offense and was rewarded for her efforts at the MVC Newcomer of the Week, the league announced.
Martin hit .545 in the three-game series against UIC. She had three hits in the series opener, including an RBI and a stolen base, and continued her hot streak into game two, where she went one for three at the plate with a double, two RBI, and one walk.
